Reflections from Collegues and Friends
This will be an opportunity for attendees to come forward and briefly share theit memories and anecdotes of Ves.
Ves was a third-year student at American University Washington College of Law as well as a Master of Arts Candidate in American University’s School of International Services.
At WCL, he was involved in the Criminal Justice Clinic, the International Law Society and the Innocence Project Student Group. He was a dean’s fellow with the Joint Project on International Criminal Law and Procedure.
Ves was a research assistant at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., where he served as an aide to two Fulbright scholars, he analyzed the development of private international law in the Ukraine; and he conducted research on the decommissioning of nuclear submarines in the Russian Far East. He also used his language skills to translate documents from Russian to English and to serve as a translator during meetings with press and embassy officials.
Prior to his work at the Woodrow Wilson Center, he was a law clerk at Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto in Washington, at the New York City Department of Law Juvenile Crime Unit and an intern at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office in Syracuse.
Ves was a graduate of Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, graduating in 2003 with a BA in Political Science. He was a Chancellor’s Scholar, Saul Blum Memorial Scholar and was represented on the Dean’s List for six semesters.
